Casual French at Naha Kokusai Dori – Brasserie Esprit –

Brasserie Esprit
The Brasserie Esprit is like a cafe on the corner of Paris.

There is a brasserie that I visit almost every time when I go to Naha.
Using French techniques, this is a real dish with plenty of Okinawan ingredients.
The details of the interieurs and atmosphere, the spelling on the menu blackboard, and the water glass are all meticulous.
A nice cafe restaurant that really seems to be in Paris.
My children born and raised in Paris also love the delicious food and atmosphere of this brasserie.
It is very convenient for us, who often stay at Kokusai Dori in Naha, because we can eat early in the morning and late in the evening.

Dinner at Brasserie Esprit – Memories of Paris come to life –

soup
The soup we had at the beginning of the dish.
A professional job that uses soup stock cooked properly from vegetables.

We often enter Naha city at a late time due to airplanes.
It’s open until late at night, so you can relax and enjoy delicious food, so I often visit here on the first night.

When you open the menu list, we want to eat everything.
We asked my children for their favorite thing, asked for main and desserts, and shared it.
What did we discuss and decide?

  • Oil boiled escargot ¥1,200
  • Ratatouille and couscous ¥650
  • Today’s quiche ¥750
  • Duck confit ¥1,700
  • Creme brulee
Escargot

With son’s strong hope, escargot oil boiled ¥ 1,200.
Punchy texture and olive oil with garlic & basil scent.
I miss the estrogot of the popular bistro and frozen food shop ; PICARD.
Ratatouille and couscous
My daughter’s request is Ratatouille and Couscous ¥ 650.
A couscous who used to eat at a restaurant in Mosque (Islamic church).
Recalling the ratatouille that was made in earnest at a friend’s home in Marseille.
Quiche
My request, today’s quiche ¥750.
I often handmade it in Paris, the quiche from PICARD was a regular item, and the lunch I asked for at bakeries and cafes was just quiche.
You can’t buy delicious quiche on the island where you live now, so make your own.
Duck confit
Main dish is bone duck confit ¥1,700
This is another classic dish I often ate at a bistro in Paris.
PICARD’s duck confit was also a regular item in the freezer.
It’s a bit difficult to make in my current home.
Creme brulee
The dessert is creme brulee.
The surface is crispy and sweet, and the inside is a pudding-like dessert.

The size of dishes are more modest than a bistro in Paris, so we can easily finish the dishes even if you order variously.
Each one is handmade and the ingredients are fresh and satisfying.
Still, the price is very conscientious.
*As of June 2020, due to the influence of covid-19, dinner was restarted only with a reservation-based number of people and an entrusted course (3,850 yen).

Breakfast at Brasserie Esprit – French Toast Definitely-

Brasserie Esprit
Brasserie Esprit It is a quiet place because it is located in the back of Kokusai Dori.
There is a large public bath in the immediate vicinity, so we will stop at the morning bath.
(Even at night, you can stop by after taking a bath.)

The dinner is of course delicious, but what makes me more happy is that the Brasserie Esprit provides delicious breakfast (8:30-11:00)! When you take an inn on Kokusai Dori, you had better book without meals for stay, and choose to have a delicious meal in the morning and at night.

blackboard
Menu written on the blackboard.
I could not choose, so I ordered three.
Brasserie Esprit
Even glasses with water are fashionable.
フレンチトースト
This is a French toast that can never be removed 850 yen (current price)
(Pain perdu du Esprit special honey sauce/fruit) Fresh fruit.
オムレツ
EM Egg/Salad/Bread/Carotte râpée & Chou mariné 900 yen (current price)
Carotte râpée, nostalgic.
I used to eat omelette at lunch in a cafe in Paris.
petit déjeuner
Set du petit déjeuner de croissants 500 yens avec du thé. Trop consciencieux.

When we go there, almost anytime, it’s not crowded, so we can really relax.
The staff is kind and remembers us, and it is an attractive atmosphere that makes us want to visit again.
*As of June 2020, due to the influence of covid-19, breakfast and lunch are not avairable.
